As a result of the symptom overlap with ADHD, high functioning ASD may be misdiagnosed in children and adolescents. Often, this leads to adults feeling misunderstood and under supported. These struggles typically manifest in relationship struggles, limited employment opportunities, and difficulty with managing day to day functioning.
Regardless of your previous diagnoses, our clinicians are here to support you in your journey to evaluate and treat potential ASDs. Typical assessment measures include observations, a diagnostic interview, and standardized rating scales (MIGDAS-2 and SRS-2) completed by the client and those closest with them. Through our qualitative evaluation, specific behavioral differences are identified to allow for treatment recommendations and supports.
